TOPICS OF INTEREST

Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

  • Transparent and Explainable Personalization Strategies
    Scrutable User Models, Transparent User Profiling and Personal Data Extraction, Explainable Personalization and Adaptation Methodologies, Conversational Recommender Systems, Transparent Personalization for Groups of Users
  • Transparent Personalization Based on Large Language Models
  • Designing Explanation Algorithms
    Algorithms based on item description, user-generated content (e.g., reviews), collaborative information, or opaque personalization techniques (e.g., neural networks, matrix factorization, deep learning); Group-based explanation algorithms
  • Designing Transparent and Explainable User Interfaces
    Transparent Interfaces, Transparent Interaction Methodologies, Novel Paradigms (e.g., chatbots, LLMs)
  • Evaluating Transparency and Explainability
    Metrics, User Studies, and Experimental Protocols for Transparency and Explainability
  • Open Issues
    Ethical considerations (fairness, bias), Privacy and Social Data Management, GDPR and Future Regulatory Directions


SUBMISSIONS

We encourage submissions investigating novel methodologies for building transparent and scrutable user models using heterogeneous personal data. The following submission types are accepted:

  • (A) Regular papers: 10 or more pages (including references, CEUR format)
  • (B) Short papers: 5–9 pages (including references, CEUR format)
  • (C) Ongoing projects, Demos, Position and Perspective Papers: less than 5 pages (including references, CEUR format)

All submissions will be peer-reviewed by at least two committee members based on originality, significance, relevance, and technical quality. Submissions are single-blind. Papers must follow the CEUR-WS one-column format (LaTeX preferred).

The peer review process is single-blind.

Microsoft Word must not be used. The Libertinus font family is mandatory. Papers not following the format will not be eligible for publication in CEUR-WS.

Publication

Each accepted workshop paper must be accompanied by a distinct full author registration, completed by the early registration date cut-off. Each accepted workshop paper can be presented either in person or online and all workshop papers will be published in a single CEUR-WS proceedings volume.

License:
Each paper must include a CC BY 4.0 license footnote on the first page, with the following text: “Copyright © JJJJ for this paper by its authors. Use permitted under Creative Commons License Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0).” where JJJJ must be replaced by the publication year.

Declaration of Generative AI: Each paper must include a mandatory Declaration of Generative AI in accordance with the CEUR-WS Generative AI Policy.
